Sounds like some good advice. No point stressing on the bigger ideas if I can't even start the smaller ones properly. Thanks for the advice and sites, will keep you updated as to where I go with this, cheers.

You have gotten way to caught up in a name.

There are big brands in skate and UFC you don't compete with them by being multiple things you compete with them by finding your niche in the marketplace. So you need to think smaller not broader.

Also the name really isn't that important it's what you make out of that name with branding.

No one can help you out if you are unwilling to go forward.
Find a designer on mintees.com and get a design made.

Find a screen printer and print it. Check out threadbird.com

You need to make the first steps now.

Very interesting post and a good insight from someone who is actually in the game. Had a thought on a brand name a few years ago and thought how cool would it be if I could make it a brand that could be big someday. Personally, I think the brand name is very good compared to some popular ones. An issue is that the name can be targeted towards various genres ranging from your skate brands because of the design aspect to your casual type brands and could even be a hit with your UFC types simply because of the name and it's meaning. Now having the ability to take it into these different genres isn't a bad thing, but definitely something that would have to be introduced over time and in small doses as mentioned to see if the interest is their. In my head it sounds good, but in reality, it most likely is different.

I would love to start it off but I'm scared of failing simpy because I'm from a small city in Australia, not America. Like it mentioned, the only barrier is my ego. Also, where do I start? how do you know who or where the decent quality shirts are produced? Is it easy to communicate your thoughts to an individual so that they can come up with the design? This name started off as an internet nickname, which then would become a licence plate but didn't because I thought of the brand name idea and got paranoid that someone might actually steal it and have the guts to start it, simply because I think it's that good. Any helpful information would be appreciated, cheers.

Being broke is one of the best motivators. You'll get there as long as you move forward and know what "there" is.

Just make sure you can afford to print all of them. I think lot's of people talk about how it is important for a brand to start off with a lot of designs but you got leave room to bounce back and recalibrate.

Hey Cedric you sound like my mom. "What happens if you sell out of all your shirts Johnny." Then I will print more mom! The least of my worries is being successful and selling too many shirts.<br><br>I think id everyone loves your design and you sell out they will believe your line is flourishing and not failing.<br><br>This Christmas season I oversold a bunch of shirts because my inventory was off and I did a Christmas show where I sold shirt. I had to email everyone and give them a refund and told them I would email them when I printed more and I would give them a discount. Just do the right thing.
